Naturally she copied Liza on these texts but we’ll get to her in a second.  That night on the phone Jessica and I laughed about it and talked about music.  She confessed she wasn’t a fan of Drake.  Appalled I tried to convert her by reading her lyrics from some of his new stuff.  She was very impressed at her clever writing.  The next day I found myself with 30 min to kill so I ambushed her.

Let’s step away from the buffet and hit the salad bar a minute shall we?  When I was in college Liza went through a “hip phase.”  She watched BET and learned the words to some popular rap songs (or at least the hooks).  One morning she called as my roommate and I lounged around in our PJ’s

“Turn on BET” she blurted out.

-I don’t watch BET… why do you watch BET?

I myself was going through a “phase” and refused to watched until they took UnCut off the air but I grabbed the remote and indulged her.  As I flipped through channels trying to find the right one she began giggling and talking about Trick Daddy tossing his chicken wing out the window, landing in the glass of a restaurant patron on the patio.  Don’t even get me started on Birdman, Lil Wayne, her admiration of their grills and the “chromed out eleven hundred”.  Sometime between now and then she fell off the “What’s hot now” wagon and landed next to Rey as Jessica, Travis, Uncle Lou and I waved from the top deck but I digress.

That was just one battle in this War of 100 years we got going.  It will eventually resume days, weeks, or even months from now and it’s always fun while it last.

So my phone just went off. I kid you not.  Jessica sent a text saying
